Hornvig, who previously served as co-president of CIB, will continue to oversee markets in the Americas, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Oversight of ASEAN and South Asia will transition to Judy Hsu, who will retain her role as Chief Wealth and Retail Banking Officer and Head of Greater China and North Asia.

Hornvig has more than 30 years of experience in global banking. He joined Standard Chartered in 2017 as global head of financial markets, where he led key businesses across fixed income, currencies and commodities.

He previously held senior positions at Brevan Howard, UBS, and Morgan Stanley.

Meanwhile, Kaushal’s long tenure included key leadership roles across Africa, the Middle East and Asia, where he led digital banking initiatives and expanded the bank’s regional footprint, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Morocco.

Bill Winters, Group Chief Executive, said: “I would like to thank Sunil for his significant contribution to the Group over almost three decades.”

“I would also like to congratulate Roberto, who has played an important role in CIB’s growth in recent years, on assuming the role of CEO as we continue to deliver on our cross-border strategy.”
