BBVA revealed that it expanded its agreement with Openai, which increased the number of Enterprise Chatgpt licenses from 3300 to 11,000.
The company took this step because it plans to expand the scope of artificial intelligence at work.
The Spanish Banking Group first partnership with Openai in May 2024, where it tried the safe Enterprise version of Chatgpt to simplify internal processes and increase innovation.
After one year, the bank said that more than 80 % of licensed users report the tool per day, and employees say it provides them with an average of 2.8 hours a week by automating routine tasks such as translations, writing reports, and data analysis.
“Many areas of work in all countries have expressed interest in integrating the capabilities of artificial intelligence in its teams,” said Elena Alvaro, head of accreditation of Amnesty International at BBVA.
She added that the demand for licenses has risen as users see strong gains in productivity and are increasingly dependent on more than 3000 dedicated assistants who were built at home.
Antonio Bravo, head of BBVA’s international data, described the move as part of a broader transformation: “We have entered a new stage where we amplify human talents with the capabilities of language models.”
To support operation, BBVA said it provides training to ensure responsible use of artificial intelligence and launched the “GPT store” – an internal library of 1000 poor assistants.
