
On Monday, Paypal announced a strategic partnership with TerraPay to expand across border payment services across the Middle East and Africa (MEA).
The partnership is expected to allow money transfer in the actual time for millions of users in the region.
The company explained that cooperation will allow the Bank and Mobile Wallet users to link their accounts with PayPal money and transfer them smoothly and safely.
Quoted from Mordor Intelligence, the company said that digital payment volumes in the Middle East and North Africa region will grow from $ 251.34 billion in 2025 to 422.56 billion dollars by 2030.
They added that the partnership seeks to address infrastructure gaps and improve financial communication.
“The Middle East and Africa are at the forefront of digital transformation, yet financial barriers are still limiting growth for many,” said Otto Williams, First Vice President and Director General of MEA at PayPal. “Through partnership with Terrapay, we make it easier for companies and individuals to make cross -border transactions, safely, without friction.”
The initiative aims to enhance financial inclusion by providing a portfolio and bank portfolio for international transactions through PayPal.
It is expected that the mutual operating infrastructure in Terrapay will be the backbone of integration.
